This unit encourages children to think about waste and its impact on the natural world. They will observe their local environment and record waste, and use this information to organize a Clean Up event with their community. The activity also teaches children about the different types of waste and the importance of sorting it correctly. The goal is to connect children to nature through sensory and play-based learning, and to inspire positive environmental change. The activity is ideal for participation in Schools Clean Up Day or a Clean Up event at any time of the year.
