Go to

This unit is designed to help students develop their connection with nature by participating in a series of mindful activities that engage their five senses. The unit includes activities such as appreciation of nature, mindfulness practices, story crafting, investigating how trees interact with elements in the environment, exploring benefits of time in nature, planting and caring for seedlings, observing nature and designing biodiversity projects. These activities are intended to deepen students' relationship with nature, enhance their concentration, and improve their well-being.

Following these lesson plans is an ideal way for your school to take part in the largest nature-care event in Australian schools, Planet Ark’s Schools Tree Day (as part of National Tree Day). You’ll be joining thousands of amazing teachers in making a difference, fostering a child’s love of nature and creating positive environmental change. So, get growing! It only takes a minute to register at treeday.planetark.org.
