Teaching With the Cool.org Hope and Act Frameworks

  • The Cool.org Hope and Act Frameworks

The Cool.org Hope and Act Frameworks have been developed to support educators in teaching about challenging topics in ways that inspire hope and action whilst ensuring psychological safety. They are grounded in research from positive psychology and Hope Theory, Design Thinking methodologies and critical and creative thinking.

Why we developed the Frameworks

Making sure that educators are supported with the resources they need to inspire hope, engagement and action around important, real-world topics is why we exist.

Ensuring we do this in ways that support and prioritise psychological safety - for educators and young people - is vital. So we developed the Cool.org Hope Framework and Act Framework.

The Frameworks are the ideal guides for the Tune In, Find Out, Take Action stages of our resources and are bound to become your best teaching buddies in developing your own real-world education resources.

Supported by Harvard Graduate School of Education

"Climate change has a significant impact on the younger generation, affecting their mental health, physical wellbeing, and future prospects. Much of sustainability education tends to focus on the facts of climate change without necessarily empowering learners to be part of the solution, leaving many feeling helpless and hopeless.

The Cool.org Hope and Act Frameworks are leading the way in transforming sustainability education by empowering learners to become agents of hope and change.

Developed on research in positive psychology, the frameworks translate research findings into a practical toolkit that is readily accessible to learners and educators.

Greta Thunberg once famously said, “No one is too small to make a difference.” The Cool.org Hope and Act Framework further illustrates that not only is no one too small, but also no change is too small or insignificant in the fight against climate change."
