Lesson Summary
Othering creates separateness and exclusion within society. Students will identify the behaviours represented in a range of scenarios that lead to othering and assess the impact of these behaviours on the mental health and well-being of others, including professional sportspeople.
This lesson is recommended to be delivered as part of the Tackling Racism Through Sport unit. This will help students to strengthen their understanding of these concepts and inspire them to have healthy and constructive conversations about race and racism. It may also support students in challenging racist behaviours and attitudes in themselves and others.
