The unit is focused on teaching students about various aspects of science and nature through hands-on activities and investigations. The K-W-H-L thinking tool is used throughout the unit to help guide student learning and assess their understanding. Activities include observing and studying insects, creating worm farms, planting seeds and watching them grow, and experimenting with surface tension. Other activities focus on environmental awareness and conservation, such as designing a school garden to improve biodiversity and learning about threats to marine turtles. Students also participate in artistic activities, such as creating scientific drawings of leaves and using natural objects to make artwork. The unit encourages students to explore and appreciate the natural world while developing important scientific skills and knowledge.
