Chasing Asylum and Australian Curriculum: English

This unit is designed to support the teaching of the film Chasing Asylum in Year 10 English classes. The lessons include clips from the film and other real-world resources to encourage student engagement and reflection. Students are asked to create artefacts for assessment and to undertake a social action project related to the themes of the film. The lessons cover topics such as language, human stories, justice, fear, power, and hope in relation to refugees and people seeking asylum.
