Trash Talk: Building Literacy Through Waste Awareness

PrimaryYear 3 - 4EnglishGrammar and SpellingReadingEnvironmentalRecyclingSustainability

Go to

This unit of lessons is designed for students to build their literacy comprehension skills while exploring the real-world issue of waste. These lessons focus on solid waste management and aims to develop students' understanding of different aspects of waste, including waste disposal methods, waste reduction strategies, and the 4Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Repair).

Explore waste in your English classroom in a hands-on and engaging unit that includes experiments, data collection and analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Cool.org thanks our philanthropic funder, Eldon and Anne Foote Trust, through the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation, for their generous contributions in creating these resources.
