Lesson summary

Students identify 5 values they want to live by and create symbols to represent them. They determine why these values are important to them and how they can use the designs they create as a reminder to guide their decisions and life goals.

  • understand the importance of knowing their values and how this information can help determine purpose and direction in their lives.

Success criteria:

Students can...

  • define what their personal values are and how their values can inform their decisions and direction in life
  • design symbols to reflect their top values as a visual reminder of their importance
  • give examples of how they practise their top value and how it aligns with their purpose.
